Ara is our golden, cuddly girl. She is very friendly  and outgoing. Ara is one of our young rescues and she has grown up with us.  

Archie was found with his siblings in the middle of nowhere when he was less than a month old. They all have grown up to be healthy dogs. Archie is one of the oldest now. He loves the attention. 

Bajro is one of the oldest and the biggest dogs. He was wandering on the streets when we saved him, and he was suffering multiple health issues including complicated ear condition in 2014. Bajro was also starved, but he recovered. Now, he is old and he needs care that is essential for oldies.

Bastian was saved her after being hit by a car. Her hind leg was completely torn apart. Also, she had complications after the operation. She has recovered and she is happy  and very playful now. 

Bella was saved after she had been hit by a car. She had extremely difficult operation but vets managed to save her leg. 

Bess was saved from the streets when she was about five months old, she was scared, traumatised and had a deformed front leg. Although her leg is a bit shorter by the deforming, she can use it as normal. Bess has recovered from her trauma’s and she now belongs to the oldies at Usko’s Nest. 

Bibi is very friendly and very active girl. She is very playful girl. We saved her when she was a lost puppy without mum

Candy was saved when she was abandone as a tiny puppy on a busy street. Se was weak and starving at the time. Now she has grown into a lovely mountain dog. She is one of our seniors, born in 2018

Capi was found as a puppy without a mum. He turned into a large mountain-type of dog, He was born in 2017 and still going strong.

Cherry was saved from a hole where she lived while she was sick. She had operations on both her eyes, and she has fully recovered. 

Cookie was thrown into a hole, and her spin and hind legs were badly injured. One of her legs was amputated. Although she isn’t a fan of her wheelchair, she is actually a fast and very mobile dog.

Cupko was also saved when he was a puppy. He was so small that we had to feed him with a bottle. He managed to survive and has grown up a lot

Cura has also grown up with us. She is a big girl and very cuddly and friendly. 

Dea..She is a Malinois shepherd mix and one of our many seniors. She was born in 2014

Donny was saved after he had been hit by a car. 

Hope was left to die beside a busy road, (March 2022), dehydrated, frozen and with two broken legs.

Jack was hit by a car, ending up with a broken hind leg in 2021. 

Janje was found together with his brothers Dabo and Cupko in the middle of nowhere in 2014. They were only little puppies and without their mum. This is unfortunately a common habit in Bosnia. Janje suffers from skin problems. He can be a bit bossy every now and then. 

Johny was saved as a puppy when he was chased by dog catchers. He is all grown up now and one of our (many) seniors.

Kaslja was saved from an illegal public pound where she had almost been killed. Due to neglect and starvation that she suffered in the pound, she has had many chronic health issues. 

Kuro was saved in the beginning of 2022. He was paralysed after he had been hit by someone. His recovery took months, but thanks to efforts of our vets and us, he has recovered and started walking again. Kuro is one of rescued animals that needs constant vet supervision and medications for bones but he is a happy and friendly boy now.

Loecka was saved as an adult. Not only that Loecka was injured, but he was badly sick when we saved him. He was dying. However, we didn’t give up and he has recovered.

Lucky was saved after he had been hit by a car. His two legs were broken, he was operated and external fixators were placed but due to complications he suffered from an infection. After months of recovery, he started walking

Luka was saved when he was a puppy. He is also one of the bosses at the shelter but he is a playful and outgoing boy. 

Mala Zuta

Mandy has gone through a lot. When she was saved, her front leg was completely torn because it had been caught in an animal trap. After the operation she had complications but she has managed to recover. 

Mandy is partially sponsored, but she could use another sponsor. 

Mirko

Molly was wandering, alone, in the woods and was fed by Dalida because she was malnourished. Now Molly is safe at the shelter. 

In 2017 Mona was found together with her sister Mila, at a garbage dump. They were frozen and hungry. They also suffered from demodex. Unfortunately Mila died June 2023 of diabetes and kidney failure.

Niho was a young and strong rescue. We found him on the streets when he  was only 6 monhs old. He was  exhausted and starved. 

Now he is one of our seniors. 

Ola

Olivia was extremely skinny and starved when she was saved, but she has recovered. Due to gastrointestinal problems she still occasionally gets vet care.

Pikachu

Pirga- She once was a very active and outgoing girl.  She has also grown up with us.  Now she is a senior.

Princess

Princess was saved after some friends from Holland asked to help her and her puppies. They all were in a bad condition and in a very nasty part of the country. Her puppies are with Dalida's friends and Princess is at the shelter.

Ruby was rescued with horrific injuries external and internal in August 2023. According to the vets these injuries were made by a person. It took a long time for her wounds to heal and she is still healing from her psychological injuries.

Rue

Sapko

Sivka was found wandering in the streets on three legs, back in 2016. As her front leg was already amputated in a professional way, it will always be a mystery what happened to Sivka and why she ended on the streets. She is now a happy dog and in charge at Usko's Nest, she is a boss of the shelter and the only dog that spends time with all groups of dogs. Sivka also supervises all activities at the shelter. She is a sweetheart and an old lady.
